In neighborhoods, cities and small towns around the world, people are reweaving the fabric of community every day. Time Banking is a pioneering approach to building community that builds circles of giving and receiving, tapping the assets of people of all ages and abilities.
At the Time Banking in Action Conference, nearly 240 people joined experts in public health, social justice, community building, and human services, as well as grassroots Time Bank members, on an exploration of this breakthrough tool for community building, social action and systems change. From 30 states and 10 countries, people arrived in Madison and were inspired to take action. Through pre-conference training institutes, informative and interactive workshops, and engaging speakers, participants gained skills, practical tools, and new relationships with which to build Time Banking in their own neighborhood and workplaces.
Time Banking in Action was co-hosted by TimeBanks USA, Dane County Time Bank, and the University of Wisconsin Madison, Department of Professional Development & Applied Studies, with support from the E.F. Schumacher Society.
